Throughout the near-decade of my career, my performing and creative work has always been balanced and enhanced by my teaching practice. I have led classrooms of every age group from preschoolers to undergraduates, taught private students as old as 75, and coached composers and interdisciplinary artists to help them present their first works.

In private lessons, I balance traditional classical studies with non-classical styles of learning, with additional focus on long-tones, theory, and ear training. My goal is to help my students build a strong technical foundation through which they can learn and play whatever style of music speaks to them. I strongly encourage exploration in music lessons, and support students improvising, creating, and learning their favorite songs by sheet music and by ear.
